The Experience
Stepantsminda — known historically as Kazbegi — sits at 1,740 meters in the shadow of Mount Kazbek, one of the highest and most sacred peaks in the Greater Caucasus range. This is not a resort town. This is a living mountain community where shepherds still move flocks between seasonal pastures and the air smells of pine resin and woodsmoke.
Our rides take you beyond the postcard. You will cross alpine meadows carpeted in wildflowers, ride through ancient forests of Caucasian pine, and ascend to viewpoints where the scale of the Caucasus unfolds in every direction — Georgia to the south, Russia to the north, and nothing but sky above.
The culture here is as rich as the landscape. Georgian hospitality is legendary, and after a ride, you will be welcomed with warm bread, cheese, and stories passed down through generations.

Every guide holds UIAA mountain certification and wilderness first-responder training. We know these mountains intimately.
Weather Awareness
Mountain weather changes rapidly. We monitor conditions constantly and will adjust or postpone rides when safety demands it.
Animal Welfare
Our horses are never overworked. Each ride is matched to a horse's capability, and rest days are non-negotiable.
May through October
May–June: Wildflower season. The meadows explode with color and the trails are quiet. Cool mornings, warm afternoons.
July–August: Peak season. Long days, warm weather, and the glacier routes are fully accessible. Book early.
September–October: Autumn light. The forests turn gold, the crowds thin, and the mountain air is crystalline. Our personal favorite.
